New Bass Fishing Website Under Fire

A new bass fishing website devoted to bringing free information to bass fishermen is under fire. Fishing book authors and fishing equipment suppliers claim the information on the site comes from one source and doesn’t apply to different areas of the country.

A bass fishing researcher, Dan Eggertsen, created the website in early 2007 to serve free “how to” information to bass fishermen. Anyone can ask a fishing question on the site and get a response which is posted on the homepage in 24 hours. Dan also publishes articles on different topics under “bass fishing” on the site.

When asked about the concerns about his site, Dan said, “I don’t really understand the controversy around the website. I have a team of experts that live in various regions around the country. Answers and articles are general in nature – and everyone is instructed to make sure the general information can apply in most bass fishing areas in the country. If an article or answer applies to only one state or body of water, this is specified in the title of the article. I just wanted Bass fishermen to have an unbiased free resource to go to for information, and I think some of these authors are upset we’re giving away some really good stuff for free.”

The site is gaining in popularity among the bass fishing community, and Dan insists most of the information will apply anywhere in the country. It’s called Ask Bass Fishing and can be found at the URL: http://www.askbassfishing.com
