At the beginning and end of the day you can find bass at shallower depths and at the hottest point of the day they tend to descend to deeper waters. Locating and tracking their depth can be a good indication if the fish that are present are bass or something else.

You want to pay attention to different structures as you may find that fish tends to stick to specific spots. This could be because the underwater structure is different on the bottom.
